Pesca a Kalamata
Kalamata lies in the Messenian Gulf, a sheltered bay in the southern Peloponnese backed by the Taygetos mountains. Sea bream, bass, and mullet are common along the harbour walls and rocky northern shore. The enclosed gulf dampens wave height significantly and the area is largely sheltered from the meltemi, making it one of the more reliable all-weather fishing spots in southern Greece.
