Riboprognoza.me is a free fishing forecast tool for shore anglers on the Adriatic and Ionian coasts of Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece and Italy. It analyses weather, marine conditions, moon phases and astronomical data to calculate optimal fishing windows for the next 14 days at 50 coastal locations.

How does the scoring work?

Accepted Answer

The algorithm scores each hour using six factors: dawn/dusk (20%), solunar periods (20%), wind (20%), waves (20%), moon phase (10%) and pressure trend (10%). Penalties apply for strong winds (above 30 km/h) and high waves (above 2 m), bonuses for golden hour and perfect conditions.

Where does the data come from?

Accepted Answer

Weather and marine data comes from the Open-Meteo free API (wind, waves, sea temperature, pressure). Moon phases and solunar periods are calculated locally using astronomical algorithms. Data refreshes every 6 hours.

50 locations across five countries: 10 in Croatia (Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Sibenik, Hvar, Rovinj, Makarska, Omis, Trogir, Korcula), 10 in Montenegro (Budva, Kotor, Bar, Ulcinj, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Petrovac, Dobre Vode, Bigova, Ada Bojana), 10 in Greece (Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rhodes, Corfu, Patras, Kalamata, Volos, Nafplio, Chania), 10 in Albania (Durres, Vlore, Sarande, Himare, Shengjin, Jale, Qeparo, Palase, Borsh, Porto Romano), and 10 on Italy's Adriatic coast (Trieste, Venezia, Rimini, Ancona, San Benedetto del Tronto, Pescara, Termoli, Vieste, Bari, Brindisi).
