Fishing in Lefkada
Lefkada town sits on a shallow, sheltered lagoon on the island's east side, connected to the Ionian by a narrow channel — calm, brackish water that holds mullet, bass, and bream close to town. The dramatic west coast, with its sheer cliffs above beaches like Porto Katsiki, drops into deep open water favoured by larger predators but is far more wind-exposed. The island's causeway link to the mainland means the inner lagoon rarely sees serious wave action even when the outer coast is rough.
